Follow these step-by-step directions to transfer all of your domains from GoDaddy to NameCheap.

I’m Boycotting GoDaddy because they are pro-SOPA.

Step 1: Login to GoDaddy and get to the domain manager.

Step 2: Select all domains

Step 3: Click on the “Locking Icon”

Step 4:…

Folyo: "How much does a website cost?" and other pricing questions

Folyo: "How much does a website cost?" and other pricing questions:
folyo:

If there’s one thing nobody seems to want to talk about, it’s pricing. Most designers don’t publish their rates, and good luck getting a company to tell you how much they paid for their site.

The results of this situation is that it can be pretty hard to know how much to spent on design. Spend…

Spaced for Android has all the same features as its iOS counterpart, with the addition of the ability to watch a live stream of NASA TV - look out for this in an update to the iOS version soon!

GTA Cheats for Android

After seeing a surprisingly nice amount of downloads of my latest iOS app, and receiving a number of requests for an Android version, I finally got around to learning the basics of developing for Android. I found it relatively easy to pick up after my experience in developing for iOS, and having done a bit of Java at university. GTA Cheats was the perfect small and simple app to start with, it is now done, and you can get it for free on the Android Market.

iOS App: GTA Game Cheats

Some of you who’ve known me a long time are most likely aware of my interest in the Grand Theft Auto videogames, and my fansite, TheGTAPlace.com. I used this interest of mine in a small side project, developing a GTA-related app for iOS. The iOS App Store has a plethora of GTA-related apps already available, the majority of them focusing on cheats, with some offering more such as guides, maps and such. First, I did a bit of research on these apps.

Naturally, I tried a lot of these apps to see what they were like. I have to say, I was shocked by the horrendous quality of the majority I tried, not all were that bad of course, but the amount that were surprised me. One of the most common complaints I had was the sheer amount of typographical errors, but perhaps worse were how bad the UI/UX was in some of the apps. I won’t name and shame any of the apps here, but as an example, I found one app using icons meant for a food/restaurant/recipe type app as icons for games consoles and cheat categories - absolutely no logical relation there, and it’s quite clear the developer wanted to get his app out as quick as possible with no care for how end users would see it.

My final complaint was to do with the completeness of most apps. The majority seemed to only cater to one of the games (there are currently 11, not including any DLC), or only a particular console. Many gamers, including myself, own GTA games on multiple consoles, so for any hardcore GTA fan these apps would be useless.

So, the idea for my app was simple. Basically, it would be used as a reference. It would have every cheat, for every game, on every console. The layout would also be simple, all the games’ logos on the main screen, tapping a logo shows you cheats for that game, and, if applicable, buttons at the top to select which console you’d like to view.

Development of the app went pretty smoothly, building on my experience from developing Spaced, I already knew how to do most of what I needed to do. As for the cheats themselves, I already had all of these available on my website. It was just a case of tailoring it to look nice when viewed on an iOS device; an additional advantage my app would have over the others was that it was also made for iPad, taking advantage of all the extra screen space.

After a few days of developing, testing and bug fixing. I submitted my app to the App Store, and one week later, it was live! GTA Game Cheats is available for FREE.
